Tips for buying a best fragrance
Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Every one of us irrespective of the gender likes to smell nice and pleasant. A variety of fragrances from simple classic to the energizing spicy are available in the market in different price ranges. You must choose the right fragrance even though the choice of fragrance depends on your personal preference because some fragrances can make you feel good while others can result into some sort of discomfort such as headache to you and others near to you. Choosing the right and best fragrance in body spray, body powder, soap, scent and cologne can even change your life. Here are some tips for buying a best fragrance.

The fragrance you choose must be appropriate for the occasion or event, and must reflect your taste, mood and personality. Use different fragrances for morning and night, according to the place where you go. It is important that the fragrance should enhance your natural smell without irritating you and others surrounding you. So, choose your perfume such that it is pleasurable and enjoyable to you and those around you. Some lovely fragrances can invoke your pleasant memories and feelings. Elegant fragrances elevate your mood and improve your self-confidence. You can also combine different natural scents into your own personal fragrance to get a unique and personalized lovely fragrance.

Always consider the purpose for which you choose the fragrance before you choose a fragrance. An inexpensive and light perfume will be the best one for daily use to office or workplace. A light musk fragrance will probably work best for business man who work hard continuously for long hours. If you are an athletic person, then choose a fragrance that is light and not overbearing. Polo Sport would be the perfect match for you. Avoid strong perfumes when attending a social gathering. Burberry fragrances which are available in Clementine, honeysuckle, and English garden rose, tiare flower, jasmine , peony, sandalwood, musk, and patchouli notes are best when going to special events. There are special blends of perfume available if you want to highlight your masculinity and femininity. A strong but pleasant one will attract your lover. Bamboo, chamomile, cedar wood, amber, ginger, mandarin, cedar wood, creamy vanilla, musk fragrances and floral fragrances like violet, lilac, jasmine, rose and lily fragrances, are perfect for a romantic evening. Watermelon, Mandarin, Passion Fruit and other mild fruit and flower fragrances are lovely fragrances that will be preferred by women. Citrus fragrances, ocean-smelling fragrances and some floral fragrances revitalize and refresh you throughout the whole day and make you enthusiastic and energized. Lavender, vanilla, rose and ylang ylang fragrances make you to a relaxed sort of mind.

You must pick up the right one suitable for you, according to your budget, skin type and weather condition. It is always advisable to try out a sample before buying a fragrance. This is because each scent may smell differently on each one of you as each fragrance reacts differently according to your own skin type and chemicalmakeup. So, when you choose a fragrance, smell it after the sample application, wait for about 10 minutes to allow the fragrance to react with your body chemistry and then smell it again after waiting.

You can get all fragrances at online stores usually at great prices. But the drawback with online shopping of fragrances is that you cannot test the fragrance before buying it.

Fragrances that are used in our daily life
Monday, October 6, 2008

Any fragrance is truly enchanting and there is none who dislikes a sweet fragrance. Fragrances can be used in our daily life to achieve several benefits, such as - increase alertness, enjoy relaxation, inspire confidence, getting into better mood, to successfully entice others.

Fragrances have the unique ability to lift our spirits and energize our body. But you must certainly become aware of the fragrances you select to obtain the required benefits. Learn to understand the positive effects fragrance can have in your daily life, as also in the lives of those around you. You can use different types of fragrances for room fresheners, bath soaps, inside your car and at your office. There are a variety of fragrances like floral, citrus fruity, nature greens, aquatic, woody and many more.

There are people who want different fragrances for different occasions, moods, and climates. There are others who wear just one fragrance at all times and on all occasions. When selecting a scent, there are a couple of factors to consider. The first is to know which perfume will be best suited for your skin. The second is what scent will be most suitable for the social event we are attending. There are hundreds of fragrances available in the market. So choosing the right scent is indeed a difficult task. Strangely, a perfume that works well on one is not always the best suited for the other as individual chemistry varies.

The principles of fragrance selection may not be the same for women and men - although there are a few unisex fragrances available in the market. While women's perfumes tend to have more floral fragrance and men's perfumes tend to have more citrus, woods, and lavender. It is however strictly not necessary that women should wear only perfumes meant for them and men should wear only the perfumes meant for men. There is absolutely nothing wrong in one sex wearing the scent meant for the other as long as it mixes well with the wearer's personal chemistry. As a matter of fact, many women enjoy the zesty citrus or warm woods in men's fragrances, and many men like the sensuality of women's spicy oriental or woody scents.

It has to be noted that there are some perfume manners which scent users must remember. Fragrances are not to be worn in the hospital, while calling on a sick patient, during condolence visits, when attending funerals. Fragrances are also to be scrupulously avoided in places like churches, places of worship, religious meetings and other gatherings of serious nature. If you still choose to wear perfumes in these locations, consider wearing a fragrance that is very light and does not interfere with others sensibilities. Any seller of fragrances will be able to guide you regarding the various categories of fragrances - Casual Wear Fragrances, Evening Wear Fragrances, Daytime Wear Fragrances, Office Wear Fragrances, and Romantic Wear Fragrances. These categories have been done after deep and elaborate study of different fragrances. The main groups of the fragrances are casual or daytime wear ones, and evening wear fragrances are mostly to enhance a warm and exotic feeling.

There is a branch of study called Aromatherapy which identifies a person's natural sense of smell and recommends the right fragrances to relieve stress, change the person's moods as well as encourage better health. For example, eucalyptus and peppermint fragrances are regularly used as stimulants to activate a person. Another example would be using lavender and chamomile in order to help a person relax or lemon and rosemary to help overcome physical fatigue.
How we can identify an original fragrance and cologne?
Tuesday, September 30, 2008

Cologne or more popularly known as Eau de Cologne was essentially a toiletry and later acquired the status of a perfume originating from Cologne in Germany. It has nowadays been used as a generic term for scented formulations in typical concentration of 2-5% essential oils. Colognes are predominantly used by men and to a much lesser extent by women.

With diluted ethanol as its base, Eau de Cologne contains a mixture of several citrus oils lemon, orange, tangerine, bergamot, lime, grapefruit etc. Sometimes it also contain oils of lavender, rosemary, orange leaf, and jasmine.

Cologne is a queer mixture of extracts, alcohol and water and the cologne fragrance is determined by the ratio of ingredients. A perfume has a different concentration of extracts to an Eau de Toilette. Eau de Toilette is much lighter, with the least concentrated fragrance being Eau de Cologne.

The creator of the first Cologne was Gian Paolo Feminis who made the discovery in 1709 calling it "Aqua Admirabilis". It is reported that Napoleon Bonaparte used eight quarts of violet cologne every month. Sometimes a less potent form of fragrance, such as eau de parfum is more pleasing. Today, eau de cologne or simply referred to by many as cologne, means nothing more than a fragrance whose essential oil concentration is approximately 5% as opposed to any other perfume which has high concentration. Centuries ago, however, eau de cologne had a different connotation. It was a fragrance in its own right, indicating a delightful mixture of lavender, bergamot and neroli.

Analysts say that you can trace the origins of colognes back to the days when bathing was an irregular event. The purpose then was mainly to cover body odor when the choice of perfume was carefully considered. During times of economic depression, women still found cheaper fragrances as there was little money for fragrances like cologne.

As we all know, businessmen are making fortunes in the fragrance industry.Cologne, its other related products can make a person smell good, but that is not all there is to fragrances. There are people who are fond of using r particular colognes and perfumes. Strangely, in many cases, the brand names behind the products found on the bottles make the fragrance popular regardless of the smell. Some cologne is popular because they are part of a particular line, the product of a specific company, or even packaged in an eye-pleasing way. This is much the same as celebrity endorsements.

Celebrity endorsements and aggressive advertising campaigns can make the difference when a consumer is about to choose a cologne or perfume. For some cologne addicts, however, the fragrance is all that matters. No matter what celebrities recommend or however powerful the marketing campaigns, they will not experiment with other products for it is their favorite fragrance of cologne that they are wedded to.

Research shows that cologne fragrance has some particular roles in our lives, from evoking romantic feelings to prompting memories. For some people, cologne fragrance is all about self-image. There is nothing that makes a man feel stronger, cleaner or sexier than an awesome fragrance and it is equally true for many women.

Great cologne is defined as one that truly reflects your personality and uniqueness, distinguishes you from the crowd, and leaves a lasting impression. Good cologne is expected to influence the opposite sex and make people wondering what it is and giving them a reason or excuse to talk to you.

Daytime cologne is one you wear while going to office or college or school - it must therefore not be overpowering cologne. It should be refreshing, light and soothing to the nose. Nighttime Colognes are generally fuller, richer and heavier. They have more spices, woods and ambery notes. When using night cologne, the more flair you can show, without overdoing it, the better.

The right fragrance for the right moment
Monday, August 25, 2008

A perfume is a subtle way you let other around you know your moods and perceptions. The fragrance defines your personality and what you would like others to believe you as. Initially, perfume was being used by the upper-class society as a high-end accessory; but, later it became available even to the most common person in the society. In the modern age, the use of perfume has become virtually indispensable as it potentially adds to the personality of a person. Usually, the exact formulae of making perfumes and fragrances are kept confidential by the designer houses; however, some perfume specialists are skilled enough to identify the ingredients, components and origins of the perfume and scents. At the present day, France is dominating the European perfume design and trade industry, and the "Perfumery" has become one of the most potentially profitable businesses in the world.

Choosing the right perfume and fragrance has become increasingly difficult for the customers as the cosmetic market is being invaded by numerous new perfumes and scent brands each and every day. Now a days, perfumes and fragrances can be found in different flavors and ingredients. They are being manufactured and offered in bottles of different shapes and sizes according to the needs of the targeted customers. While visiting a cosmetic store, a customer often gets confused about what could be the right one for him/her.

Powerful metallic green notes of galbanum or woody notes like cedar will do very well. Combined with craft based designs on clothes they will help create a strong ethnic look. Most women often do not understand and know about the various types of women's perfume that are available. You must get the scent right to help enhance what you are wearing in clothing. Women's perfumes come in different fragrances that work for different body chemistry. When you understand and know about the different types of women's perfume a woman can buy and wear scents that are suited to her, and to properly accompany her clothing. By wearing the right fragrance for your body chemistry, it will produce that positive benefit you are looking for in a perfume. Always go for a perfume that contains fresh smells and makes you attractive and impressive. Have your best friend (preferably female) give his/her views on the particular perfume you are trying. Often, it is the other person who can tell you what goes right with you.

Perfumes can be classified as woody, floral, fresh and oriental. These labels of perfume types are determined by the type of scent that they create and the ingredients they are created from. A fresh scent will be a citrus or natural smell, a basic floral will be the scent of a flower and a woody scent will be created by using the barks and oils of different woods. How to prefer the amazing cologne
Wednesday, August 20, 2008

As we all know scents and fragrances are available in different kinds and the strength of their fragrances also vary. Eau de Toilette has a little less concentration of essential oils compared to other perfumes. This kind of fragrance is sometimes preferred because they are not as overpowering as perfumes and not at all annoying to the nose.

Colognes are decidely light fragrances, more on the citrus side but cool and crisp all the same. It is lighter than both perfume and Eau de Toilette. The present day generation loves this kind of scent and is widely used by men to smoothen and calm the skin after shaving. A designer perfume fragrance can also be integrated into after shave cologne as a complement to men's cosmetics. The best way to choose the right fragrance you should buy is to choose the kind of fragrance you like. You have three choices, perfumes, eau de toilettes or colognes. Some people do not like the stronger smell of perfumes so they opt for the lighter scents of eau de toilette or colognes.

For most women, scent is very important and an indispensable item in their make-up kit. Not only does your natural scent or the scent you give off when you are moving with them, also your cologne or deodorant or cream that use can remind them of you or a certain experience with you for the rest of their lives. This may appear crazy but this is a hard fact. Did you ever have a girlfriend who wanted to keep an old shirt of yours and who loved to sleep in this old shirt or old pair of boxers of yours? This is a reason they like to do this. So figure out a great scent that you want to spray on your body, that will help you to not only smell great and be your confident self but also to give your girl a new cologne scent to associate with the amazing times she had with you.

If you are in a relationship, the best thing to do is to ask your woman which colognes she likes and if need be - take your girlfriend cologne shopping with you. If a scent excites her and she seductively smiles at you, then you buy it without a second thought. If she loves this scent on you and it makes her happy than this is a great thing, what more could you ask for than making the woman you love happy. You should want to smell good for her and it might make you even more attractive to her too. Hombre cologne is more attractive for you.

However, if you are a single man than I would suggest you do your market research. Either approach girl friends of yours about which colognes they like on guys, or when you go shopping for cologne do not hesitate to ask the women near by which scent they prefer. Make it a point to ask the counter girl who is trying to sell you the cologne which one she prefers. Being nice to her and getting to know her could result in one of two things: a discount; or if you are extremely lucky, even a date!

Are you buying cologne for everyday use at your office or after the gym, or after a shower? Or is this cologne meant to entice your female friend as you take her on your first date or is it meant for those nights when you are taking your special lady out for dinner? This would mean selecting completely different types of colognes and it is important to know what you will be using this cologne for. The clerk at the store can recommend you to some scents that might match the various occasions. Your cologne is a part of your style. It leaves an immediate impression on people that you meet. It acts just like the clothes and the shoes that you wear.

Quality Fragrance of all ranges

Perfume is the result of a queer mixture of fragrant essential oils, aroma compounds, fixers and solvents intended to provide the human beings, animals and certain objects, a pleasant odor. Like music, perfumes also have three notes which unravel gradually, with the top note offering the immediate effect and then getting into the deeper middle notes, and finally the base notes emerging. These three notes are crafted carefully bearing in mind the evaporation process of the perfume. To further elaborate on the subject, the scents emanating from the top notes are sensed immediately on application of a perfume. They consist of small, light molecules that evaporate fast. They form a user's first impression of a perfume and thus are very important from a marketing perspective. The middle notes represent the scent of a perfume that comes out just prior to the top notes dissipating. The middle note compounds form the nucleus or main body of a perfume. The base notes denote the scent of a perfume that appears immediately after the departure of the middle notes.

The base and middle notes combine to form the main theme of a perfume. Base notes bring depth and solidity to a perfume. Compounds of this class of scents are typically rich and deep and are usually not sensed until 30 minutes after application. All manufactures of perfumes usually publish perfume notes and they typically ilustrate the fragrance pyramid, with the components shown in imaginative and abstract terms. Perfume analysts will tell you that grouping perfumes can never be totally objective. Many fragrances invariably contain aspects of different families. It is interesting to know that traditional categorisation of fragrances were:

The single floral fragrances that are dominated by a scent from one particular flower. Floral Bouquet which contain the combination of several flowers in a scent. Ambery fragrance which denotes a large fragrance class featuring the sweet somewhat animal scents of ambergris, often combined with vanilla, flowers and woods and further enhanced by camphorous oils and incense resins. Woody is known as fragrances that are predominantly woody scents, like agarwood, sandalwood and cedar. Patchouli, with its camphor smell, is commonly found in these perfumes. Leather connotes a family of fragrances which features the scents of honey, tobacco, wood and even wood tars in its middle or base notes and a scent that alludes to leather. Chypre which means Cyprus in French includes fragrances built on a similar accord consisting of bergamot, oakmoss, patchouli, and labdanum. Fougère which means Fern in French is constructed on a base of lavender, coumarin and oakmoss. Many male fragrances are believed to belong to this family of fragrances.

During the middle of last century, as a result of developments in perfume technology as well as the natural evolvement of styles and tastes, certain new categories have emerged to reflect modern varieties of scents. Bright Floral category combines the traditional single floral and floral bouquet. Green is a lighter and more modern interpretation of the earlier Chypre type. Oceanic or Ozone is the latest category in the perfume industry; this is a very clean, modern smell leading to many androgynous perfumes. Citrus or Fruity belongs to an old fragrance family that until recently consisted mainly of eau de colognes due to the low tenacity of citrus scents. But developments of newer fragrance compounds have led to the creation of primarily citrus fragrances. Gourmand fragrance scents with dessert-like qualities. These often contain notes like vanilla and tonka bean, as well as synthetic components designed to resemble food flavors. Many modern perfumes contain synthetic odorants, as an alternate source, to provide fragrances which are not naturally available. Synthetic orchid scents are usually not obtained directly from the plant itself but are instead synthetically created to match the fragrant compounds.
