Perfume oil is essentially diluted with a solvent because the undiluted oils such as natural or synthetic comprises of high concentrations of volatile components that would probably result in some sort of allergic reactions and as well possibly injury when applied directly to skin or clothing. And the most common solvent for perfume oil dilution is ethanol or a combination of ethanol and water. Perfume and fragrance oil could be diluted by way of neutral smelling lipids such as jojoba, fractionated coconut oil or wax.
As the high value of aromatic compounds decreases, so does the intensity and longevity of the moisturizer created. Different perfumeries or cheap fragrances houses assign various amounts of oils to each of their parfum. Therefore, although the oil concentration of a perfume in eau de parfum (EDP) dilution would necessarily be huge than the same perfume in eau de toilette (EDT) type within the same value, the actual values could differ among perfume houses. An EDT from one house might be stronger than an EDP from another.
